Childline WC was part of a hybrid organisation, LifeLine/Childline Western Cape, from 1995 until June 2018, when it became an independently registered NPO. Childline Western Cape (WC) is affiliated to Childline South Africa. The organisation has been awarded the designation as of a Child Protection Organisation, by the Department of Social Development, rendering Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) services
Childline services have been operating in the Western Cape (Cape Town) since 1995 when it started with the 24-hour toll-free Helpline (08000 55 555) as well as outreach community services. Our new toll-free Helpline number is 116.
